A fatal car accident in Aiken County recently claimed the life of a 29-year-old local man. According to a June 28, 2020 news report by the Aiken Standard, the crash occurred on a Saturday evening on the SC-118 bypass, otherwise known as East Pine Log Road.
South Carolina State troopers report that a driver in a Honda Civic was attempting to turn from the road onto S.C. Highway 4. He failed to yield the right of way, as required by law, to a motorist in a Jeep Wrangler headed the opposite direction. A major collision occurred as a result. The victim was a passenger in the Honda and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and the other motorist involved were taken to a local hospital and are expected to recover from their injuries.
