According to a December 16, 2019 news report by The State, an Aiken County couple was traveling on Charleston Highway around 9:00 p.m. on a Saturday night when they were struck by a 25-year-old Denmark woman headed in the opposite direction.

Police began searching for the hit and run driver and apprehended her just a day after the crash.
